# Generate the text of a field

On the records of 4HSE, a wand icon next to a text field marks that the AI can write its content. One click opens the menu with the entries you can use at that moment.

For now the wand appears on one field only: the **Description** of a prevention action.

Entry

Use it when

**Generate**

The field is empty, or the text in it is worth redoing from scratch

**Improve the wording**

The content is right but badly written: tangled sentences, points in the wrong order

**Expand**

The text is too thin for the document it ends up in and needs to go into detail

**Summarise**

The text runs long and needs cutting back to the essentials

While the field is empty the menu holds a single entry, **Generate**: the other three work on an existing text and appear as soon as there is one.

## Where the content comes from

[Section titled “Where the content comes from”](#where-the-content-comes-from)

The AI starts from the data already filled in on the record and completes the rest from what it knows about workplace safety and regulation. In the example above the name of the course is enough, but the more fields are filled in, the more pertinent the generated text.

The same limits as the chat apply: see [Limits](/ai/limits).

## When the wand does not appear

[Section titled “When the wand does not appear”](#when-the-wand-does-not-appear)

- **The subscription does not include the AI** — 4HSE behaves as it always has.
- **The field is not one of the supported ones** — today only the Description of an action.
- **The record is read-only** — no field can be edited.
