# Let guests report events

The guests of an office (the **Guest** group, see [Office groups](/users-and-permissions/groups/office)) normally do not record events. With this setting they can report them from the app, for example a near miss seen on the shop floor. See [Incidents and events](/incidents/).

1. Go to **Project menu → Administration → Configuration → Permission on events**.
2. In **Permission on events**, choose **Yes**.
3. Save.

## What a guest can do

[Section titled “What a guest can do”](#what-a-guest-can-do)

- Create events from the app. The events start in the **New** status.
- See only the events they created.
- Edit one of their events while it is **New**. Once whoever manages the register sets it to **Open**, the guest can no longer change it.

The events reported appear in the office’s register alongside the others, and everyone with a role on events receives the notification as for any new record.

Choosing **No** stops guests from seeing and creating events, including those they had reported.
