# Issue a certificate

The certificate is the proof that the obligation has been met. It carries the expiry date from which 4HSE recalculates the recipient’s status. Issue it after [recording the outcome](/prevention-and-protection/record-the-outcome) as passed.

## For a whole session

[Section titled “For a whole session”](#for-a-whole-session)

1. From the session toolbar, click **Wizards**.
2. Select **Bulk certificate creation**.
3. Select the recipients for whom to issue the certificate.
4. Click **Confirm**.

## For a single recipient

[Section titled “For a single recipient”](#for-a-single-recipient)

1. Open the enrolment detail — double-click the row or click the link icon.
2. Check the **start** and **end of validity** dates.
3. Click the **rosette icon**. The certificate is issued for that recipient.

The certificate is now valid and appears in the scheduler, with the expiry that drives the next renewal.
