# Link the resources that require an action

An obligation exists because something makes it necessary: a task, a machine, a substance, a work phase. Recording that link makes the obligation traceable to the risk it mitigates.

The action is in the **office** menu, under **Actions**, in the submenu of its type.

1. Select the action and open the **Requested by** tab.
2. Click **New** and choose the kind of resource to link:
    - Role · Job position · Equipment · Environment · Substance · Work phase · PPE
3. Click **Next** to see the catalogued items of that kind.
4. Select the ones you need and click **Confirm**, then **Done**.

The **Requested by** tab now lists everything that requires this action.
