Training
Training keeps track of the courses workers must attend and of the renewals that keep them valid.
It is a prevention and protection action, so it follows the common cycle: define, add recipients, schedule, enrol, record the outcome, issue the certificate. What changes is the vocabulary — courses and editions — and the rules on validity and refresher training.
Courses and editions
Section titled “Courses and editions”- A course defines the training need: this course exists in this office, it is valid for a number of years, these workers must attend it.
- An edition is one delivery of that course on a date, with a trainer, a location and the people enrolled in it.

A course with no editions is a declared need that has not been met yet. Its recipients stay in the New status until an edition is recorded or a past certificate is registered — see Statuses.
Base course and refresher
Section titled “Base course and refresher”A course declares how it is structured over time:
- Base and update — a first base edition, followed by refresher editions repeated over the years. You can set the duration of each separately.
- Single — one edition that is not repeated.
This is what distinguishes training from the other action types: the obligation is not a single event but a cycle of first delivery and periodic refreshers, and the two have different durations and often different contents.
The certificate
Section titled “The certificate”The certificate attests attendance and the skill acquired, and carries the expiry from which the renewal is calculated. A worker may also hold certificates issued by third parties: these can be made to count towards a company course, so their expiry is tracked alongside the others — see Link an external certificate.
What to do here
Section titled “What to do here”The procedures are the common ones: create the course · add the recipients · schedule an edition · enrol the participants · record the outcome · issue the certificates.
